The start of modeling and Fashion
Fashion was a major part in Europe, especially Paris. Queen Marie Antoinette hired French milliner (Marie-Jeanne) Rose Bertin as her dressmaker. She is known as the first fashion designer that introduced Haute couture to the world. She made beautiful dresses for important woman such as Princesses and Duchesses. After the French Revolution, after she had fled to London and returned to France, she found that fashion was viewed differently as the 18th century came to an end. She died on the 22 of September of 1813, almost a forgotten memory if it weren't for her marvelous dresses and dolls.
In the 1830's, a young man named Charles Frederick Worth worked for two textile merchants, where he later began to progress and eventually become known as one of the best professional dressmakers in the 1800's. He was then given the name "Father of Haute couture" because he brought back a lot of the styles that was around in the 18th century (A lot like the fashion style of the French milliner Rose Bertin). He also became the first fashion designer to ever use live models in his House of Worth where he showed of his dresses. From then on, modeling became more and more used in the fashion industry. Worth's House of Worth continued after his death in 1895 with the help of his relatives; however, it all ended in 1952 when his great-grandson decided to retire.
There were many fashion designers that arose after the French Revolution, and fashion and luxury and everything sweet became more common. Eventually traveling it's way all around the world, giving other countries ideas of showing off their own clothing. Thus, fashion is worldwide and modeling is used constantly. Setting the way we look at women throughout the years.
